Natural Treatment for Wrinkles

Wrinkles are visible creases in the skin. Wrinkles form as the skin loses its collagen, a protein that allows the skin to retain fluids that support a smooth, supple contour. As the collagen- filled elastic tissues underlying the skin are increasingly damaged, wrinkles deepen and become more prominent. Try a natural treatment for wrinkles to avoid using harsh chemicals on you face.

natural treatment for wrinklesAlthough wrinkling is a normal part of aging, exposure to ultraviolet light and free radicals accelerate the process. Frequent exposure to sunshine results in premature skin wrinkling and increased pigmentation, called liver spots. Exposure to cigarette smoke means exposure to toxic free radicals that also contribute to wrinkling. In women, smoking exacerbates skin wrinkling that occurs after menopause, canceling out the anti-wrinkling effects of estrogen treatment. Other factors that can lead to premature wrinkling include poor diet and nutrition, poor muscle tone, habitual facial expressions, stress, lack of proper skin care, excess sun exposure, and heredity.

Natural Treatment for Wrinkles cannot stop the aging process, but they can slow it down. Herbal antioxidants in skin creams stop the free-radical processes that destroy collagen. Herbal sources of alpha-hydroxy acids stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid, the body’s natural agent for moisturizing and restoring suppleness to the skin. Stronger treatments such as tretinoin (Retin-A) can soften existing wrinkles and prevent new wrinkles from forming.

  • Never intentionally expose your skin to midday sun. Between 9 A.M. and 3 P.M., always use sunscreen to avoid skin damage. Moderate, daily exposure to early morning or late afternoon sun helps the skin manufacture vitamin D, which is important to numerous bodily processes, including the prevention of most forms of skin cancer.

  • Take 100 to 300 milligrams of coenzyme Q10 daily. There is considerable scientific evidence that this supplement can act as an antioxidant and energizer that can prevent many of the detrimental effects of sunlight exposure.

  • Take 1,000 milligrams of chondroitin sulfate daily. Chondroitin stimulates the growth of skin cells and accelerates metabolic processes that help the skin retain moisture.

  • Drink eight glasses of water daily. Adequate hydration helps maintain skin tone.
  • Use natural oils to remove dirt and makeup. Do Not use harsh soaps and creams.
  • Avoid alcohol-based toning solutions. These can dry and chap the skin.
  • Get regular exercise, and treat high blood pressure and other circulatory disorders. Like other organs, the skin receives its nourishment through the bloodstream. Exercise increases circulation to the skin.
  • Do not smoke. Smoking intensifies sunlight damage to the skin.
  • Acerola Tablets with vitamin C Contains mineral salts that complement alpha-hydroxy acids in rejuvenating skin.
  • Aloe Gel containing 1-3 percent alpha-hydroxy acids. Most potent natural source of alpha-hydroxy acids. Apply daily for 8-16 weeks.
  • Calendula Cream. Stimulates growth of skin cells. Soothes sun-damaged skin and protects it from infection.
  •  Comfrey Allantoin cream. Stops reddening and irritation of the skin around wrinkles.

In my case I’ve found that taking gelatin, which converts in the body to collagen (essential for smooth skin), has been the best way to get rid of wrinkles over time. You have to take it consistently, though. I learned about this from the book “Sip Away Your Wrinkles.”

hi, my mom age is 52+ and she use Egg with Mask.

Mix together one egg white with a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice and half a teaspoon of honey to reap the antiseptic and antibacterial benefits of honey along with the astringents in lemon juice used to fight off bacteria. Those with oily skin will benefit most from the powerful ingredients in egg whites. It helps to tighten, tone, and shrink pores by reducing excess sebum, otherwise known as the oil secretion from your pores.

Egg whites are full of protein for tissue repair and growth, potassium to preserve the moisture in skin cells, fiboflavin to eliminate toxins and free radicals that are known to cause wrinkles, and magnesium, which slows down the aging process and makes skin radiant. Egg whites also contain lysozyme, which digests the cell walls of acne-causing bacteria. its help a lot to bright skin and remove wrinkles

      Hi Prachz,

Thank you for the great DIY mask directions, I will have to try it. Also, has your mom tried SkinAgain’s Youth wrinkle cream? It’s completely natural and has worked wonders for me the past few years. If she doesn’t have time to do create her own mask, I would recommend it to her 🙂

I’m impressed, I have to admit. Rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and engaging, and let
me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. The issue is something
that not enough men and women are speaking intelligently about.
I’m very happy that I came across this in my hunt for
    something concerning this.

I make all my own serums. I like this post because I use natural oils, base and essential oils like carrot seed, calophyllum and sea buckthorn oil and them for regenerating cells at a deeper level. Adding these to base oils rich in fatty acids means they can penetrate deep into the skin to stimulate collagen production as well. Serums are fabulous for wrinkles and lots of other things too.

    • Deanna

Do you sell any of your serums?
