Anemia

Anemia is a decrease in your blood cell count, and/or a decreased hemoglobin content in the blood. Since red blood cells are the ones responsible, for carrying oxygen to the cells via the hemoglobin, a lower amount, would mean low oxygen in all your body's tissues, and if you are pregnant your baby gets less oxygen as well. Anemia can be caused by blood loss, which means that not enough red cells are being produce, or that too many red cells are being killed off. Home remedies for anemia are a great solution.

Usually, anemia is due to iron deficiency, but also can be caused by not having enough Vitamin B12; B6; Folic acid; and/or copper in your system. During your pregnancy blood counts will be done, that will help to determine what vitamins or nutrients you are lacking; but in some cases more specific test are needed. These might include blood work for Iron; Vitamin B12; Ferritin; Iron binding capacity, and folic acid levels. I have beentoldI have anemia by doctors since I had my first child13 years ago. I never worried much about it until August 08. I began to hemorage with my period and I nearly died. I had to be put into the hospital and have a blood transfusion. please do not make the same mistake I did, take it seriously! My daughter is still freaked out about it and cries whenever she talks about it. Please take care of yourselves!

Hii, i found ur site more useful. I have anemia right from my childhood. I have this rare tendency to eat sand, limestone, chalk piece, bricks, and ash and had suffered complications of anemia. I underwent a series of test and was found to have very low hemoglobin and was given Zinc sulfate. I took zinc for one year and discontinued it. Again anemia came up and was given zinc sulfate throughout my two pregnancies. Now my kids are around 9 and 7. I am not taking any iron tablets regularly, but i use to take some on and off around my periods. Now recently when i checked my BP, i have found that it was high. I am only 36 years old. Can anemia have its effect on BP? Kindly give advice regarding this and what should I do to check my anemia?

borderline anemia
I have been told several times that my iron count is below normal. I have been given several different iron supplements to take but they all either upset my stomach or make me constipated so I refuse to take them regularly. I have also been diagnosed with having high blood pressure. Could my low iron be the cause of this as well? I also crave eating ice. Is there any type of homemade remedy that i can do to get my iron level up? Something that I can make daily perhaps?
